Your data, in plain words

Short version: no cookies, no tracking, and if you write to me I only use your details to reply.

Who looks after your data

Me: Francesca Folkmer, Crema (CR), Italy. I'm the data controller for this website. For anything about your data, write to folkmer.design@gmail.com.

The "Let's connect" form

If you write to me, I receive:

  • your name, your email and what you'd like to talk about;
  • your company or project, if you add it (it's optional);
  • a one-way code made from your IP address, which changes every day. I can't turn it back into your IP: it only limits spam.

Why: to read your message and reply. Nothing else: no newsletter, no lists, no selling. Legal basis: you asked to get in touch (art. 6.1.b GDPR) and my legitimate interest in keeping the form free from spam (art. 6.1.f GDPR).

Where it goes: the form sends your message to a small service I run on Cloudflare, which stores it and forwards it to my Gmail inbox. So Cloudflare and Google process it on my behalf. They may handle data outside the EU, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long: as long as we're in touch, and at most 24 months after your last message. Then I delete it.

The whiteboard

The board on the homepage saves only the drawings, with the same daily IP code to limit spam. Please don't write personal details on it: everyone can see it.

Statistics

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics (opens in a new tab) to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It uses no cookies, doesn't follow you across sites and doesn't identify you: I only see totals, like page views, the country, the type of device and the site you came from.

Cookies

None. That's why there's no cookie banner. The site only keeps a small technical note in your browser to play the slide animation between pages, and it's deleted when you close the tab. The fonts are hosted here, so nothing goes to Google Fonts.

Links to other sites, like LinkedIn or the Alé website, follow their own privacy rules.

Your rights

You can ask me to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or stop how I use it, or to get a copy. Just write to folkmer.design@gmail.com and I'll reply within 30 days. If you think I got something wrong, you can also contact the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (opens in a new tab).
